Information reaching aobrempongnana.wordpress.com is that one person has been confirmed dead in sporadic shooting at the premises of NDC Head office in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
One other person is said to have sustained gun shot wounds and has been sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The shooting was said to have occurred at the regional headquarters where the executives of the party were holding a meeting.
National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and General Secretary, Asiedu Nkatia were in attendance and had to run for dear lives.
The dead has been identified as a member of the NDC Regional Taskforce, one Wasiu.
The exact reason for their presence was unclear. What was obvious, according to our reporter, was that they just didn’t want the meeting to come on.
The injured are receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, while the body of Wasiu has been deposited at the morgue pending investigation.
Police have taken over the party office. No arrests have been made so far.
According to Appiah Stadium and Yamoa Ponkor, the shooting was by their own party vigilantes whom they are yet to know what triggered them to do that.
They further pleaded with the President, H.E Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo and the former President, John Dramani Mahama to come together to disband these vigilante groups.
