Former Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dadekotopon, Nii Amasah Namoale has likened delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to Jews who chose Jesus Christ over sinner, Barabbas.
An unhappy Namoale who was the chief campaign manager for NDC Presidential Candidate, Joshua Alabi alluded to the Biblical text of how the Jews chose the sinner over Jesus Christ while commenting on the results.
Despite failing to mention names, an aggrieved Namaole said he was shocked at the results that came from the various constituencies.
Delegates of the opposition party voted to elect former President John Mahama as the party’s candidate for the 2020 polls.
He beat off competition from six others including Professor Joshua Alabi who was a key contender.
Jesus was standing before Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor who had already declared Jesus innocent of anything worthy of death (Luke 23:15).
Pilate knew that Jesus was being railroaded and it was “out of self-interest that the chief priests had handed Jesus over to him” (Mark 15:10), so he looked for a way to release Jesus and still keep the peace.
Pilate offered the mob a choice: the release of Jesus or the release of Barabbas, a well-known criminal who had been imprisoned “for an insurrection in the city, and for murder” (Luke 23:19).
