New and incredibly wild Rap Lord taking over the scene, DaPrince

This is Obeng Paul Tenkorang, better known by stage name as DaPrince(formerly Guccie DaPrince), a rapper, singer and songwriter born of Mr. Emmanuel Obeng Tuffour and Agartha Obeng Agyapomaa. Hails from Akim Oda in the Eastern Region but resides in Accra, the nation’s capital, the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. Born at Kwashieman, a town in the Accra Metropolitan district, a district of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana where he was raised by his parents, relocated with his family to Agape at a very younger age where his father died.

He is the third born of two sisters and a brother. He again relocated to Akim Oda in the Eastern Region Ghana to stay with his uncle for a while due to the death of his father, where he attended Oda Senior High School even though he gained admission at Accra Academy Senior High School.

The name DaPrince was given to him by an old man who happened to be passing around the spot where he was having a freestyle session with a couple of friends in 2016.

In Senior High School, he was known for his debut studio single dubbed “Thug life” which featured the then rap group, DPE, Dirty Psycho Entertainment, which was made up of Minie, JQ and Yoga Swag Mo (Now DJ Yoga). After high school, he paused the music because his uncle never liked the idea of him doing music. He attended MMCE college in 2009 where he thrilled the student body with a lot of amazing songs such as Swirl, Odo, Only One, etc and was made the President of the ENTERCOM in 2010 due to the musical side of his world which he won with no competition and not much campaign and proceeded to the Valley View University.

In early 2017, he was introduced to a young man called Freddy who was the CEO of Redzon Record, had a home studio, and revamped his music career after he went on a musical break due to his university education. Freddy loved his talent so he helped him record songs such as Yeah Yeah Yeah, Hold Me Now, Coming Back, Seal, Fotogbey, Dey Der and others which are making waves in the country.

In 2017, he met Frisky, his first and current Manager, the CEO of NLE (Next Level Entertainment), when he was shooting his first music visuals for his single, Dey Der, started working with him where he recorded songs such as Are you Alright, Bumper, YOLO and others.

Performed at places such as Vienna City Night Club(Circle), Fizzles Platinum, Kuami Eugene thank You tour, Rapper Gemini Club Tour, National Theatre and many other venues all in 2018.

The prolific rapper in an interview with Obrempong-Nana Kwaku Ampomah said “I am taking my music career to the next level in 2019 and beyond and wonna feature top notch artistes such as EL, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Kelvynbwoy, darkovibes and others.”

“Achieving this will be a dream come true” he added

He is signed on to Next Level Entertainment record label with CEO, Frisky who’s also determined to push him and other talented artists to the high heavens in the music industry.
