Today we celebrate the young people, youth-led organisations, governments and others who are working to transform education and young people everywhere
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres
There are currently over 1.8 billion young people the world over, who are being prepared to take up leadership roles and again be agents of hope for the next generation.
Education is a “development multiplier” as it plays a pivotal role in accelerating progress, changes the lives of families who hitherto were looked down upon, the crucial role that quality education plays in youth development is well recognised, youth development benefits society at large.
In Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo’s policy on Free Senior High School Education, is putting smiles not only on the faces of the young people in their quest to seek knowledge but their families at large; the hope is to see these young champs grow up to be asset to their immediate families and the nation at large, I cease this opportunity to admonish and call on all head of states on the African continent to prioritize youth development in the area of education.
The young men and women on the African continent should also cease opportunities especially those that hinges on education to help build a prosperous African continent free from foreign oppression and aid.
On the occasion of this event being marked the world over, I urge the contemporary youth to be change agents, generational thinkers, take up roles that changes the fortunes of communities and be law abiding citizens.
