Hon Samuel Atta Akyea, Member of Parliament of Akyem Abuakwa South who doubles as the minister of works and housing and Pinamaa foundation made some donations to Abuakwa South Municipality to help fight the coronavirus pandemic. Items donated were:
1000 (200ml) Hand sanitizers, 80 gallons (5titres) rubbing alcohol, 100 gallons( 5litres) liquid soap, 50 Veronica Buckets, 1350 Surgical (Nose Mask), 5000 gloves, 50 tissues. To be distributed across the constituency. Markets, Police Stations, Health Centres and the general public.
Inscriptions such as” Do your part and let’s drive coronavirus away from Ghana” Stay safe , Help prevent the spread of COVID-19 among other dos and don’ts were embossed on the items donated.
The residents were also given nose mask, hand sanitizers, liquid soap among other items.
Ms Augustina Nartey, Municipal health Director and the management of the facilities were more than grateful for the donation. She cautioned against violating rules which are aimed at preventing contracting and possible spread of the virus.
“In an interview, Chairman of the constituency, Mr Yaw Boakye Yiadom made it clear that COVID-19 is real and should not be taken for granted. He therefore encouraged the constituents to abide by the precautionary measures to reduce the spread of the virus.
