NPP government believes in the development of Sekondi-Takoradi

According to the Western Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, who confirmed the new Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive on 14th August 2020, has said the New Patriotic Party “NPP” government led by Nana Akufo-Addo believes in the development of Sekondi-Takoradi as a listening government.

“Sekondi-Takoradi is getting its first share of infrastructure development of the country”, he said.

Speaking at the function, the Western Regional Minister who double as incumbent Member of Parliament for Takoradi Constituency stated that Parliament has passed a credit facility for the dualization of Sekondi to Takoradi road with an upgrading of Takoradi to Tarkwa road from a single to double lanes, reconstruction of Takoradi Central Market “Market Circle”.

Again upgrading of Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital into teaching hospital, commissioning of Railway University at Essikado-Ketan and also investing of Five Hundred Million Dollars in the dual railway line from Eshiem to Prestea Huni- Valley, Hon. Okyere Darko-Mensah emphasize.

He revealed this to dignitaries when the former chairman for the New Patriotic Party “NPP” in the Takoradi Constituency and a businessman, Abdul Mumin Issah succeeded Late Hon. Anthony K.K Sam as the new Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly as the new MCE.

Hon. Mumin Issah was nominated by the ruling government led by H.E Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo when Late Anthony K.K Sam kicked the bucket during the fight against novel Coronavirus pandemic.

The new Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. Abdul Mumin Issah is said to be a businessman operating a laundry and Washing Bay at Anaji in Takoradi.

Hon. Abdul M. Issah with much gratitude thanked H. E. Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, Members of Parliament in Sekondi-Takoradi, western Regional Minister, Assembly Members, chiefs and people in Sekondi-Takoradi for the resounding support and confidence reposed in him.

President Akufo-Addo’s nominee as Sekondi-Takoradi MCE attained 100% endorsement from
Fifty-two “52” eligible electorates the including Assembly Members and Government Appointees in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly.
