Editorial: An Open Letter to the Chief of Kpone

Dear Nii Tetteh Otu,

Greetings from the land of my forebears.

I’m completely scandalised and dumbfounded after watching excerpts of a video footage where you exhibited a philistine behaviour towards president Akufo-Addo at a durbar organized at Kpone earlier today.

The absurdity of the reasons for your cloddish behavior today amazes even the devil and his agents. How could you have visited the sins of John Mahama on innocent Akufo-Addo?

Look, it is not for fun that traditional rulers are revered in the Ghanaian society. Chiefs are considered to exude wisdom, intellect, tactfulness and maturity, therefore any chief who lowers the bar must be called out.

It is shocking to see no less a person than the Chief of Kpone throw these basic qualities to the marines, to the extent of screaming in the open that he is not a stooge to witness sod-cutting ceremonies. This is unheard of!

Your Majesty, since you’ve decided to take off your traditional attire and veer into active partisan politics, some of us have no choice than to walk side-by-side with you on your new found crave.

Nii, respectfully, it is important to remind you that nobody put a gun on your head to attend today’s durbar. You were clearly aware of the program outline before honoring the invitation so your argument is nauseating to say the least, respectfully.

Your blatant obsession for president Akufo-Addo’s sterling performance is what has made you jittery but like it’s said in our local palace, “when ringworm defies shyness to surface on your nose, you don’t hesitate to put plaster on.” Let those who have ears listen!

This unholy attempt to cause disaffection for president Akufo-Addo won’t wash! Just as Nii Ayi Bonte (Gbese Mantse) saw his smoothness level after castigating then candidate Akufo-Addo in the build up to the 2016 general elections, so shall you witness your biggest humiliation come December 7, 2020.

President Akufo-Addo’s win in the upcoming general elections is divine. “Who Jah bless, no man curse.”

Assalamu alaikum

Editorial: The Abirem Writer Writes; “My Advice to The NPP Fraternity”

My able elephant fraternity, NPP, is doing marvelously well in terms of development and no political party as at now can be compared to especially NDC. If you compare NDC to NPP, is like comparing “NURSERY STUDENT TO A MASTERS DEGREE HOLDER/GRADUATE”. This means, there is a wide gap between these two political parties.

But NDC knows how to “WIN” elections but do not know how to “MANAGE THE ECONOMY”.

NPP knows how to “MANAGE THE ECONOMY VERY WELL” but do not know how to “SUSTAIN A POLITICAL WIN”.

If the NPP learn how to sustain a political win, it will take NDC over 50 years before they can rescue power from the NPP. If NPP do their things very well they will be able to make GHANA, “A ONE PARTY STATE”.

The NPP should TRY everything possible to ensure that in every POLLING STATION across the country, they will empower at least “THREE” people so that they can “ADOPT” that Polling Station when the party is in crisis to prevent future financial burden on some few people when the party is in opposition.

The behaviour of some appointees of government is causing a lot of apathy in the party. Something “MUST” be done about it with immediate effect.

What pains me most is that, H.E NANA ADDO DANKWAH AKUFO-ADDO KWAKU WILLIAMS had performed better in the history of the country’s political regime but the behaviour of some appointees is bringing him done.

One policy that had already secured victory for NPP is the ALMIGHTY “FREE SHS POLICY.” He deserves not less than 65% massive votes in the 2020 general elections of which I am very sure that “INSHA ALLAHU” he will get it because JOHN MAHAMA, himself knows that he will not and never win election 2020 but where they should be looking at is the MP seats.

Are we sure that we can maintain the difference of 63 seats(169-106=63seats)?.

We should be thinking of if nothing at all, we should maintain the 63 seats but the question we should ask ourselves is that, “ARE OUR BEHAVIOUR AND HUMAN RELATIONS ATTRACT PEOPLE TO FOLLOW US AND VOTE MASSIVELY FOR OUR PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATES”?

We should crosscheck our behaviour and attitude towards others whether it is “PULLING CROWD OR NOT”.

We should not forget that “POLITICS IS ABOUT NUMBERS”. Let your behaviour attract people to the party but not to drive away people from the party. Remember that the party is for all of us but “NOT THE BONIFIED PROPERTY OF ANYONE”.

I am pleading with all those that because of some people’s parochial interest and behaviour had led to apathy to let things go for the seek of the party and H.E NANA ADDO DANKWAH AKUFO-ADDO KWAKU WILLIAMS, so that we can maintain power because Ex-President John Agyekum Kofi Kuffour, once said that, “IT IS BETTER TO BE A MESSENGER IN A RULING PARTY THAN TO BE A GENERAL SECRETARY IN AN OPPOSITION PARTY”.

I AM ADVISING THAT ALL THOSE IN THE HELM OF AFFAIRS SHOULD TRY EVERYTHING POSSIBLE WITHIN THEIR MEANS TO SOLVE ALL ISSUES AMICABLY SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN POWER FOR A VERY LONG PERIOD OF TIME.

TOGETHER WE STAND, DIVIDED WE SHALL FALL

MAINTAIN GOOD HUMAN RELATIONS SO THAT IN YOUR OLD AGE YOU SHALL REAP WHAT YOU SOW

THE FUTURE IS UNCERTAIN

NO ONE KNOWS TOMORROW EXCEPT GOD ALMIGHTY

ROUND 2 IS FULLY ASSURED

ONE GOOD TERM DESERVES ANOTHER

LONG LIVE MR. PRESIDENT!

LONG LIVE NPP!!

LONG LIVE GHANA!!!

Editorial: Berla Mundi must be called to order or arrested

Berla Mundi elects to advocate for LGBTQ in Ghana.

It was same Berla who was promoting this illegal act when she was at GhOne TV.

Now she has paraded people who are into that conduct on her show seeking to subtly influence the perception of Ghanaians about this extremely despicable act.

Can a journalist for example parade armed robbers on his/her show in the name of giving them a voice? No! Why? Because it’s illegal. Same is the case of LGBTQ. It’s an abomination per our constitution. And so Berla Mundi must be called to order or must be arrested if indeed we want to respect the constitutional provision that criminalises the conduct.

Let’s keep wide awake, I think the demon driving Berla Mundi is at work.

COVID-19: Vaccine trials ongoing in 5 African countries

The Africa Centre for Disease Control (CDC) has outlined some of the trials going on for Covid-19 treatment and vaccination in Africa.
Fifty-two countries have currently reported having positive cases of the virus – with more than 37,000 patients being treated.

In a joint briefing online with doctors at Shanghai hospital, the Africa CDC said that in comparison to the rest of the world there were very few treatments happening on the continent.

Dr Taji Rajudeen outlined the trials so far:

  1. In Egypt, there are about 13 trials going on looking specifically at therapeutics. Scientists, there are also conducting around two trials on vaccines. They are also looking at the place of nutritional support, especially with honey and some immunotherapy trials are going on in Egypt.
  2. In Zambia, they have one ongoing trial with hydroxychloroquine.
  3. South Africa is part of the WHO solidarity trial, and they are looking at Chloroquine, Interferon, Remdesivir.
  4. In Nigeria, they have one trial in progress – still on therapeutical agents.
  5. Tunisia has two trials going on.
The Africa CDC try to mobilise the different research consortiums on the continent to see how to change this narrative so that Africa becomes more engaged in that regard.
