The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the Opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC on behalf of the National Executive Committee has written to the former Central Regional Chairman of the party, Mr. Bernard Allotey Jacobs on a decision by the party to suspend him from the party.
In a statement signed by the party’s chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, they sited a breach of the party’s constitution by the former central regional chairman for his persistent anti-party conduct.
In an interview with Bernard Allotey Jacobs on “The Platform” with Nana Yaw Kesse on Peace fm on Wednesday 6th May 2020 night, he admitted to the suspension with justification that he has turned a new leaf and in a new garment, therefore choosing to be a Ghanaian and a Nationalist who speaks as such, and he prefers being referred to as a social commentator instead of being a political party communicator. So if by his nationalist approach to issues, the party has suspended him, so be it.
Earlier, the communication Directorate of the party had written to the Host and Producers of Peace FM’s morning show, kokrokoo, to stop making Allotey Jacobs a panelist on the Wednesday show, but the Host, Kwame SÉ›fa-Kayi insisted he maintained and due to that, the party has stopped sending a representative on the Wednesday show.
According to the New Crusading Guide Newspaper today 7th May 2020, the NDC has entirely boycotted attending the kokrokoo show from Monday to Friday.
As to whether the decision will be rescinded or otherwise, we live to see.
