Sammy Gyamfi thrown out of UTV; his show NOKW3R3 MMR3 suspended

United Television (UTV) a subsidiary of Despite Media has suspended a political program dubbed ‘NOKW3R3 MMR3’ hosted by the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi.
Management of the media house in a letter sighted by MyNewsGh.com states that the program is courting several legal suits for the station which has informed its decision.

It reads in part “The Management of United Television (UTV), regrettably seek to inform you of our decision to suspend the programs mentioned above, which currently airs on our network on Saturdays at 7 pm and Mondays at 9pm respectively. This unfortunate decision has been taken due to the numerous allegations and legal actions the station has been faced with and subsequent settlements it has entered into which emanated from the airing of the programs.

UTV’s willingness to allow your political party to purchase airtime and host your own programs on our channel was as a mutt of the restrictions imposed by the President due to COVID-19 pandemic, which does not allow mass gatherings and rallies. Knowing very well that as we are at the peak of an election year, the programs would offer both party’s the opportunity to reach a larger audience. Thus the aim of the programs as agreed was to allow your outfit to disseminate your campaign message and details of your manifesto to the general public in order for Ghanaians to make informed decisions during the 2020 Elections. The program took a different turn when same was aired. To protect our brand, avoid legal suits, retraction and apologies management has decided to suspend the program until further notice. We welcome any opportunity to discuss further, how our network can be made available to your outfit to educate the people of Ghana on your party’s policies and manifesto ahead of the December 7 elections which will not seek to place the station at a, legal risk and maintain our station’s ( UTV) unbiasedness in Ghanaian politics and reportage in general.

Abura Asebu Kwamankese is not for sale – Alvin Jackson slaps NDC’s Felix Kwakye Ofosu

Mr. Jackson said the good people of AAK will not be the “Esau” in the current dispensation to sell their birthright to a foreigner.

It’s very appalling to see certain individuals, because of their selfish interest try to impose someone from nowhere on the people of AAK.

He asked the political figure key questions below:

√Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu should show us his family house and who his family head is?

√Tell us what you did for us as a minister for eight (8) good years.

√He should just mention one project he brought to Abura Asebu Kwamankese or a Chief or a village he visited during his 8 years as a minister.

√Which Chief from the three traditional states did he invite at his vetting or any other occasion as a minister?

The former deputy minister, was rejected at Cape Coast North when he went there to contest. Later, he went to Mfansteman constituency where he was also rejected as well because he’s neither from there nor qualify as a normal residence. So WHY AAK?

He further stated that, maybe few people in NDC in the constituency can take money from him and sell their birthrights but the traditional authorities, opinion leaders and the general population will not sell theirs.

The people in the constituency cannot and will not sell Abura Asebu Kwamankese to a foreigner, so after December 7th polls the former deputy minister of information can go back and collect whatever anyone took from him.

The Communication Secretariat of the opposition National Democratic Congress in the Essikado-Ketan Constituency of the Western Region has advised the Incumbent Member of Parliament for the New Patriotic Party ‘NPP’, Hon. Joe Ghartey to call his constituency executives to order over vile propoganda with full of lies and insults aimed at attacking and tarnishing the high earned reputation of NDC parliamentary candidate, Prof. Grace Dr. Ayensu-Danquah.

According to the Essikado-Ketan NDC Communication Officer, Taylor Frederick, Hon. Joe Ghartey who has been the Member of Parliament for the constituency for 16 years and have nothing relevant to showcase as a developmental projects being qualitative or quantitative.

Mr. Taylor Frederick continued that the NPP executives and their hired commentators have resorted to unnecessary politicking by bad-mouth and falsifying things about Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah when they have the opportunity to speak on the airwaves at any radio stations in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.

Joe Ghartey to enable voters the opportunity to make an informed choice.

The western regional correspondent for Vision1 FM, Benjamin Bray’s effort in reaching the New Patriotic Party ‘NPP’ at the Essikado-Ketan Constituency to respond to these allegations levelled against them by the opposition National Democratic Congress has proved futile.

EC withdraws voters ID card of NDC’s parliamentary candidate for Cape Coast North

The Electoral Commission has withdrawn the voters identification card issued to the opposition National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary candidate for the Cape Coast North.

According to the Commission, Kwamena Mintah Nyarku allegedly provided false information when he applied for the card, hence, the withdrawal.

EC’s decision might prevent Mr Nyarku from contesting for the 2020 parliamentary seat of the Cape Coast North constituency since he may not have a voters card when the nominations and registration opens.

And by the electoral laws, one cannot contest for a year’s election if the individual is not a registered voter.

The decision to withdraw his card was communicated to him a short while ago.

John Mahama’s running mate according to Pro NDC newspaper, The Herald

With everything appeared set on the side of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections, the nation is waiting with bated breath on the Presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to name his running mate for the December 7, polls.

This paper’s several attempts to get the person to partner the NDC’s John Dramani Mahama in the battle against Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for some days, continue to draw the response “JM is keeping everything close to his chest” and “the man is tight-lipped”.

The ex-President’s aides, who would ordinarily talk to The Herald, continue to insist they are not aware of the boss’ choice for a running mate, but they were sure that he was going to make a good choice to enhance the NDC 2020 ticket.

But the names of many party members continue to make the rounds with report that one of them could be named soon, after Mr Mahama’s final meeting with the National Executive Committee (NEC).

This will be after meetings with NDC’s founder Jerry John Rawlings and the current Chairman of the Council of Elders of NDC, Alhaji Iddrisu Mahama.

The last meeting between him and the NEC at the party’s headquarters was to decide on the membership of the National Campaign Tema led by Joshua Alabi.

Although tight-lipped, The Herald is informed that names such as ex-Finance Minister, Kwesi Botchway, ex-Education Minister, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, Kwame Awuah Darko, the former boss of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and the Bulk Oil Storage and transportation Company (BOST), Kwasi Ahwoi, a former Agric and Interior Minister.

Also, on the list, The Herald learnt, is Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a former Finance Minister, banker and businessman, who once served as Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BOG).

Former Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) as well as the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Alex Mould, is also on the list.

The Herald picked up information that, although ex-President Mahama, wanted Prof. Kwesi Botchway as running mate, based on his knowledge and experience of managing the Ghanaian economy during the turbulence times of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), the Military junta led by Flt. Lt. JJ Rawlings, the man who was once served as Chairman of the National Development Planning (NDPC) complained of old age, failing health, as well as family protest. But for these, Prof. Botchway, would have been named long ago.

His only challenge was that he was coming from the Central Region, because the NDC, had had John Evans Atta Mills, and Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur from the region. Some party bigwigs, feel that the Central Region, has been offered a lot of opportunities to serve the country.

Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a former Finance Minister, is mentioned as the candidate of ex-President Jerry John Rawlings. His experience as an economist, a former lecturer, a banker, a businessman; owner of the Unibank, Unicredit, Star Insurance, Prime Insurance, Starr FM among others.

His Ashanti lineage, to many is to serve as a big plus as the NDC is seen to be dominated by Northerners, Ewes, Fantes, Nzemas among others, but the Ashantis are believed to be in the party, but have always played a backburner’s roles. But like Prof. Botchway, Dr.Duffour, is also facing the age issue. He is over 70-years, just like Prof. Botchway.

Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, appears to be in a pole position among all with her gender, record as the first female Vice-Chancellor of a University; the University of Cape Coast (UCC). A former trained journalist, who also served as an Education Minister, where she excelled and made a name for herself.

Alex Mould, who is also on the list has over 30 years of international energy and banking experience, and widely regarded as one of Africa’s leading authorities on energy, economic and leadership issues.

The ex-boss of the national oil company for Ghana, was charged by President Mahama to develop GNPC into an independent and world-class operator, through the execution of an accelerated growth strategy.

He began his career with GNPC, where his core responsibilities, included refining, crude and petroleum products supply and risk management.

Prior to joining GNPC, he was responsible for regulating the downstream sector as CEO.

He is said to be passionate about local content and public-private partnerships that demonstrate how the energy sector can generate investment and drive economic empowerment and transformation.

Mr Mould is said to have extensive corporate and investment banking experience was gained from Standard Chartered Bank (New York and Ghana) and Union Bank of Switzerland (New York), focusing on transaction origination, client relationship management, product management, strategic planning, business strategy and development.

Alexander holds an MBA (Finance, Economics and Decision Science) from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, Illinois. He also obtained a Post Graduate Diploma (Oil Marketing and Economics) from College of Petroleum Studies, Oxford; and a Chemical Engineering BSc from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), Kumasi in Ghana.

His Expertise are mentioned as leadership, management, finance, economic management, power, Oil & Gas. (Upstream), Crude and Petroleum Products supply and trading.

Other media reports have also mentioned MP for Korle-Klottey Constituency and daughter of ex-President Rawlings, Dr. Zenator Rawlings and NDC’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, among others.

Social media publication WhatApp news, report how Mr Mahama’s choice had come after a long string of consultations within the opposition party which was truncated by the outbreak of the terrifying Covid-19 coronavirus in the country.

The NDC running mate selection, has been a subject of intense concern for political pundits who have warned that picking a running mate too close to a major presidential election could be a fatal gamble for John Mahama.

Even Mr Mahama’s arch-rivals in the governing NPP and the incumbent flagbearer of the party, Akufo-Addo, had taken pot-shots at the NDC candidate for the seeming delay.

Beaming excitedly while picking his own running mate on Saturday, June 27, 2020, Akufo-Addo referred to the NDC’s running mate blues, saying: “…we have no such difficulty. We have the most fitting person to feature on our ticket.”

However, Mr Mahama, had earlier conceded that the outbreak of Covid-19 in Ghana mid-March 2020, had complicated matters on when would be considered appropriate to name his running mate, amidst radical public reforms being undertaken due to the coronavirus.

“In the midst of COVID-19, what is the use of naming a running mate you can’t even outdoor him. The president is encouraging all of us to stay at home, that’s not the most opportune time to come out and name your running mate and so we are on track,” the NDC flagbearer responded to a query put to him during a public event in May 2020.

Between the two shortlisted persons, Whatsup News gathered that Mr Awuah Darko is the favourite of Mr Mahama, but insiders say the powerful Ahwoi family, are relentless in their lobby for Kwasi Awoi to emerge the final running-mate.

The Ahwoi brothers are a powerful power bloc within the NDC and have reportedly groomed Kwasi Ahwoi for the top Job. The bloc is also nicknamed “Church Street” bloc.

Mr Ahwoi, may be judged based on his last appointment as Ghana’s interior Minister in comparison to Awuah-Darko’s milestone appointment as the unprecedented CEO of two major oil parastatal of Ghana-BOST and TOR.

During his time, Awuah Darko, was credited for virtually bringing the comatose TOR back to life and turn it around from a resource-guzzling entity to a profit-making one.

As CEO of TOR, Mr Awuah-Darko managed the restructuring of the entire refinery operations, slashing TOR’s perennial debt of $650million to some $350million.

Awuah-Darko, who hails from the Ashanti Region, has extensive experience in the finance and insurance spanning across Africa, Europe and the Americas, and he would be matching the NPP’s Bawumia on this front.

On the other hand, Mr Ahwoi’s forte is in planning and resource management, having held several positions in that regard. With his extensive professional and political career, he is surely a formidable choice.

Receiving the manifesto, Mr Mahama wrote on Facebook “this document, The People’s Manifesto, will represent the NDC and my social contract with the good people of Ghana.”

The Republic Day announcement came eight months after the NDC opened its doors to the public, calling for manifesto suggestions.

Expressing gratitude to the public for their contributions, Mahama wrote: I thank you all for your contributions to the compilation, and as I have promised.

“I look forward to the Policy Dialogue Series through which I will be sharing details of the various sectors and themes of the manifesto.”

“Mahama Was Chosen to Lead NDC Because of His Wealth; Not Competence” – Ishmael Addo Alleges

A member of the Communication team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says former President John Dramani Mahama was chosen to lead the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) because of his wealth and not competence.

Ishmael Addo alleged that “John Mahama was not the candidate the NDC wanted but the party needs money and so they decided to choose him because he has money more than any other person in the party”

Mahama ‘bloodshed’ speech
The NPP Communicator further lashed the former President for ‘making comments that can lead to bloodshed’

According to him, “it’s sad such comments were coming from the former President; it would have been pardonable if party communicators made those comments…I think he has already seen his defeat”

Background

The former President, delivering a speech at the 28th anniversary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), issued a stern warning to the Electoral Commission (EC) ahead of the 2020 elections.

According to him, the party will not accept the 2020 election results should they suspect any underhand dealings by the EC.

“As leader of the NDC, I wish to serve notice that we shall do all our parts to ensure that our country remains peaceful and that the electoral process proceeds smoothly, but let nobody assume that we will accept the results of a flawed election”, he cautioned.

Ex-President Atta -Mills autopsy finally out

Ex-president John Evans Atta Mills died as a sitting president. He died at the 37 Military Hospital. Even though he has a chronic health condition which is believed to be the cause of his death. A lot of people still doubt he died a natural death and believes someone was involved in his demise.

It has been years since he died and was buried but yet still people also dig into matters surrounding his death to the extent that the death of this noble peace – maker has now turned into politics.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) believes Former Vice President and President John Dramani Mahama was part of the conspiracy to take the life of Ex President Atta Mills so he can take over from him.

For them to wait for election year to talk about such things makes it look like they are using it for their own advantage to defame the flag bearer of the opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The brother of the Late President Atta Mills speaking on Accra FM today told listeners that rumor going about that the autopsy of the Late President was never out is a total lie.

And that he was there when the autopsy was taking place by the pathologist. He said they even cautioned him that the sight is unpleasant so if he can’t stand it, he can excuse them.

According to him, the autopsy took about three to four hours and he was present as at when they did it. He said the family of the demised later recieved the report after three days.

He added that as a family they are not happy about how the public keeps bruising their wound stopping it from healing faster.

He said the public should stop all those unpleasant comment about his brother’s death and that it is not making the family happy. Atta Mills comes from a family before he become a president and so we should give respect to the bereaved family and the dead.

Just In: Electoral Commission Responds to NDC’s Press Conference

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has issued a response to the claims by the Opposition NDC in their press conference yesterday, chaired by the party’s chairman, Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, alluding that the commission is conspiring with the ruling NPP and the National Identification Authority, to rig the upcoming 2020 elections.

Below is the statement, signed by the Acting Director, Public Affair at the Electoral Commission, Mrs Sylvia Annor

“NDC’s yet-to-be-named running mate will ‘finish off’ Bawumia” – Asiedu Nketia reveals

General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr Jonhson Asiedu Nketia claims Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the weakest link in the New Patriotic Party(NPP) and NDC’s yet-to-be-named running mate will have no problem finishing him off.
There is the perception that the Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia is a thorn in the flesh of the NDC considering his deeper understanding of economics and his resort to data to always make the NDC a laughing stock.

But reacting to this in an interview on TV 3, Asiedu Nketia who is known as General Mosquito said Bawumia can never be a thorn in the flesh of the biggest opposition part.

He said if Bawumia will be given the opportunity to be the running mate of the NPP, it will be advantageous to the NDC in the campaign leading up to the 2020 elections.

“Those who hold that perception are engaged in something else. We don’t believe that Mahamudu Bawumia is any thorn in NDC’s flesh. Infact the way he has messed his own reputation up it will be very advantageous for us if he gets the slot to be a Running Mate of NPP”.

In the General Secretary’s estimation, “Bawumia will be a very easy candidate to deal with because all his records are there and whatever he has said in the past. He has created a certain perception about himself so it will be very easy for us going into 2020 campaign if any NDC Running Mate has to contend with Dr. Bawumia”.

L£AKED: Ofosu Ampofo Charges NDC youth to shed blood over new register

LEAKED EXCERPTS FROM A MEETING HELD BETWEEN THE NDC NATIONAL YOUTH WING AND CHAIRMAN OFOSU AMPOFO ON THE 7th OF MAY 2020

CHAIRMAN OFOSU AMPOFO AT IT AGAIN!

At a secret meeting held between the all NDC regional youth organizers and the national chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the following issues were discussed;

1. VOTERS REGISTER AND MATTERS ARISING
On the above matter, the National chairman of the NDC urged all the youth organizers to resist any attempt by the Electoral commission to compile a new voter register. He further incited them to be prepared for blood shed and series of vandalism in the quest to scare away the Electoral commission from organizing the new register.
He added that, if the NDC fails to resist the compilation of a new voter registration it simply means NDC should forget about election 2020.

Ofosu Ampofu concluded by saying the party is not a against a limited registration exercise but is totally against a new voter register because that will deny their Togolese and Burkinabe colleagues who registered in 2016 the opportunity to vote.

2. COVID 19 AND MATTERS ARISING
Mr Ofosu Ampofo disclosed that, the NPP is taking advantage of the fight against Covid 19 and is vigorously campaigning ahead of elections 2020. He noted that, the Npp through its regional and constituency branches have donated PPE’s to market women and vulnerable people nationwide and that the NDC must wake up and rise to task

In view Of the above he posited that, His Excellency the former president has purchased a good number of PPE’s which should be distributed nationwide through their branches. He added that, this distribution will be spearheaded by the regional youth organizers.

Yesterday, the Volta regional youth wing of the party started its distribution in all the 18 constituencies in the region.

3. NPP CAMPAIGN TEAM AND MATTERS ARISING
Ofosu Ampofo stated that, the campaign team members of the NPP are fully experienced in election matters and that the NDC must be very careful

He posited that, Mac Manu has an in-depth knowledge about elections especially voter register analysis and encouraged that, the NDC must not stop the fight against the voter register.

4. RECENT ATTACKS ON JOHN MAHAMA IN THE MEDIA
Mr Ofosu Ampofo disclosed that, the recent attacks on the integrity of the former president by some NPP communicators most especially Abronye is very much disturbing and worrying

He added that, Abronye has started his nasty things he did in 2016 and that, the party youth wing must find ways and means to stop him and several other immediately.

On this point, the NDC regional youth organizer Efo Warlanyo took the challenge and pledged to stop Abronye DC in the coming days

Another meeting will be held soon. Anticipate for more updates

This is evidence that the NDC did not end ‘dumsor’ before leaving office – Dr Gideon Boako

So I have listened to another failed attempt by the NDC to throw shade at government after they failed to respond constructively to the challenge thrown by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

This time around they made reference to a 2nd March 2016 comment by Dr. Bawumia that ‘Mahama cannot take credit for ending dumsor’. Their aim was to suggest that the NDC ended dumsor before exiting power.

For the avoidance of doubt and clarity, Dr. Bawumia made that statement after Mr. Mahama who was President of the country had delivered a State of the Nation Address in Parliament on 25th February, 2016 and ridden on the ephemeral stability in the power sector to suggest that dumsor was over.

But guess what happened in April and beyond after Dr. Bawumia had made that statement on the back of Mr. Mahama’s claim.

First, reference could be made to a report on 30th June 2016 on Graphic online by Daniel K. Kenu under the headline: “We are not out of dumsor yet – President Mahama”.

The body of the story was attributed to Mr. Mahama when he met the Council of Christian Churches in Kumasi as part of his ‘Accounting to the People Tour’. Here he blamed the prolonged dumsor on the non-supply of gas from neighboring Nigeria to feed thermal plants as a result of sabotage which had led to the shutdown of the Asogli power plant.

Second, a Citinewsroom story filed on 22 July, 2016 quoted Mr. Samuel Tetteh Agbetor, Chairman of the Western Regional Workers’ Union of ECG as having said President Mahama was sitting on dumsor timetable. The story was headlined “Mahama sitting on dumsor timetable – ECG workers”.

Third, to show that dumsor was still existing even at the time this government came to power in 2017, I’ll refer you to a Ghanaweb story gleaned from Peace FM on 2nd March 2017 that quotes Mr. Ofosu Ampofo, then Director of Elections of the NDC and now their National Chairman. The story was headlined: “Mahama would have ended dumsor if NDC was retained” – Ofosu Ampofo.

Mr. Ofosu Ampofo said this when he appeared on the popular Peace FM ‘Kokrokoo Show’ hosted by the venerable Kwame Sefa Kayi. On that fateful day Mr Ampofo was quoted to have said that “former President Mahama would have ended the dumsor crisis confronting the economy if Ghanaians hadn’t voted his government out of power”.

So clearly, on account of these and many others, including the living testimonies of Ghanaians who know pretty much that dumsor was still persisting at the time Mr Mahama and the NDC exited, it beats reasonable thinking for the NDC to suggest that they ended dumsor on account of a statement Dr. Bawumia made in March 2016 when in actual sense there are statements made by senior members of the NDC, Mr Mahama inclusive, to suggest that dumsor was there even after Dr. Bawumia’s statement.

Once again, this is propaganda yaamutu. NDC never ended dumsor. They should look out for the next propaganda.

Media Boycott: NDC boycotts Kokrokoo entirely after suspending Allotey Jacobs

The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the Opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC on behalf of the National Executive Committee has written to the former Central Regional Chairman of the party, Mr. Bernard Allotey Jacobs on a decision by the party to suspend him from the party.

In a statement signed by the party’s chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, they sited a breach of the party’s constitution by the former central regional chairman for his persistent anti-party conduct.

In an interview with Bernard Allotey Jacobs on “The Platform” with Nana Yaw Kesse on Peace fm on Wednesday 6th May 2020 night, he admitted to the suspension with justification that he has turned a new leaf and in a new garment, therefore choosing to be a Ghanaian and a Nationalist who speaks as such, and he prefers being referred to as a social commentator instead of being a political party communicator. So if by his nationalist approach to issues, the party has suspended him, so be it.

Earlier, the communication Directorate of the party had written to the Host and Producers of Peace FM’s morning show, kokrokoo, to stop making Allotey Jacobs a panelist on the Wednesday show, but the Host, Kwame Sɛfa-Kayi insisted he maintained and due to that, the party has stopped sending a representative on the Wednesday show.

According to the New Crusading Guide Newspaper today 7th May 2020, the NDC has entirely boycotted attending the kokrokoo show from Monday to Friday.

As to whether the decision will be rescinded or otherwise, we live to see.

Below is the official statement of suspension to Mr. Bernard Allotey Jacobs:

Election 2020: John Mahama PICKS running mate

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has selected a running mate for the 2020 elections.

The former President has come under intense criticism for failing to name a running mate since his election as the flagbearer of the main opposition party some two years ago.

Information gathered by GhanaNewsPage.Com indicate that the former President settled on an Akan.

The reason, this paper gathered is due to the belief that an Akan, particularly someone from the Ashanti Region will help the party gain more votes in the Akan dominated areas.

Ace broadcaster, Paul Adom-Otchere opined same when he run an editorial on the running mate issue in the NDC.

“We suspect that if J.J Rawlings is thinking about a running mate for John Mahama, giving that John Mahama comes from the North and he’s thinking about a running mate from the south, we think JJ will point him…directly to the Ashanti Region,” he said on his TV show Good Evening Ghana,” he said.

Mark Ofori blasts Fanteakwa NDC chairman over propaganda comment against MP

Re: Fighting COVID-19, Fanteakwa South MP should be fair to the People.

The NDC is taken advantage of the deadly global pandemic, COVID-19 that has almost stop every activities in the world. Fanteakwa South NDC is not exceptional.

The attention of Fanteakwa South NPP has been drawn to a mischievous press release which is been circulated in attempt to run down the steps of our Hon Member of Parliament, Mr Kofi Okyere Agyekum to contribute to the fight against COVID-19. The President has already taken proper measures to curb this global pandemic where Mr Kofi Okyere has also followed suit.

We wish state it categorically that Mark Okraku and his entire NDC members are opportunist and they usually take advantage of disadvantages and they have never contributed any meaningful option to the development of Fanteawa South.

We the Fanteakwa South NPP are telling the entire Fanteakwa South constituents to avoid the meaningless propaganda by The NDC chairman, Mark Okraku and his cronies.

In addition we have several questions to ask the NDC chairman Mark Okraku and his cronies and we need immediate answer to that;

Firstly, we want to ask the contributions the NDC has made in the Fanteakwa South constituency in fighting against the deadly global pandemic COVID-19?

If the Fanteakwa South NDC has contributed to the fight, We the Fanteakwa South NPP wants data and details of their contribution.

NDC’s coronavirus response team wrong move & totally needless – Sammi Awuku

Speaking to this on Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Sammi Awuku who commended President Akufo-Addo for his proactiveness in curbing the spread of the scourge, indicted the NDC leader for seeking attention in dire moments for political gain by arrogating unto itself the powers to set up parallel structures to counter that of the state.

”I am struggling to understand former President Mahama and the NDC. Do we establish opposition NADMO in times of floods?” he quizzed.

“…Mahama’s conduct was not presidential…there was no need to form any committee except for political gain. They have travelled beyond basic politics. What kind of suggestions are they going to give? Politicizing this is the lowest point in this whole discussion…

“…every step of the Government goes a long way to help curb the spread of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The government has recalled all retired health experts to help curb the spread of the disease…This is not the time to play politics but I was surprised to realize that the leader of the NDC has set up a covid-19 response team. There is no country where an opposition party has set up a response team. what is the terms of reference? It was a wrong move, totally needless and sought to politicize the situation and I think the former President’s conduct was not presidential at this point in time,” the NPP National Organiser said.
