Despite an abject campaign under Coach Paa Nii which saw the team lying third from bottom in the 2017/2018 women’s league season, Halifax ladies could take pride in a ‘mission accomplished’ liked performance in the NC special competition.
It is evident that, the exit of Coach Paa Nii and appointment of Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo proved a masterstroke, as the team went on a sudden winning streak, losing just a game in the group stage of the NC Women Special Competition to earn a Quarter final berth.
The Black Queens gaffer seems to possess a magic wand with some special antics and numerous football fans who usually throng the community 4 TDC park, will attest to that total transformation.
Her returned from Egypt after participating in the CAF Instructors course and a recent coaching course in Prampram means much will be expected from her on the touch line.
Faustina Akpor,Ernestina Tetteh a, Constance Serwaa Agyemang and their likes are still around to serve portions of football delight to fans in the new season.
Halifax ladies will however be looking forward to win over few neutrals with their dour brand of football.
Last competitive season: placed sixth in the Southern Zone with 6 points -3 goals in the first round of the 2017/2018 league season.
One to watch: Constance Serwaa Agyemang, the young playmaker has another opportunity to prove that she can cut it at the highest level.
